The South Carolina Historic Properties Record (SCHPR, pronounced "skipper") is a searchable database of available online records for properties listed in the National Register of Historic Places or above-ground properties recorded in the Statewide Survey of Historic Properties. Both are programs of the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), a division of the South Carolina Department of Archives and History (SCDAH). SCHPR is the primary online repository for the state’s National Register nominations, but contains only a limited selection of digitized survey records. Many SCHPR entries include select digitized or born-digital forms, photographs, reports, or other materials produced through these programs. The records in SCHPR are static, archival documents that cannot be altered. Feel free to explore SCHPR! At the top of the page you can search the entire site or search in two categories: National Register (nominations and Multiple Property Submissions) or Statewide Survey (survey forms).
