Historical Information:
African-American congregation organized in 1866 by Rev. James R. Rosemond as Silver Hill Methodist Church and met in buidling owned by white congregation. Foundations for the current structure were laid in 1899 and building was dedicated in 1903 as John Wesley Methodist Episcopal Church.
