Exterior hardware exhibits hand-wrought strap hinges with both spear and round ends; the pins which support the hinges in the jambs are also hand-wrought. One of the exterior chimneys is original and is characterized by hand-made bricks and lime mortar; the other chimney is of fairly recent construction. Interior: refined details, which include the delicate, yet elaborate, turns of the chairrail, door, and window mouldings; the 6-panel doors are feathergrained and have a narrow moulding attached to the panels where they join the stiles and rails (a typical feature of houses constructed in the early 19th century); wide-plank pine flooring, wainscoting, walls, and ceilings; 18-inch air space between the ceiling and floor of the attic; some of the original paint colors - deep blue and pale yellow - are intact.
