Built or rebuilt about 1895 as a two-store "block". In 1899 the left section, a meat market, was deeper than the right (barber) and had apartments above, with a back entry porch. This half of the building was damaged by fire about 1908. The two shops were occupied by a grocer and a dry goods store for most of the early 20th Century.
