This is a most impressive dwelling with a distinguished history. Built shortly after 1853, for Richard DeTreville, an attorney, it later became the home of George A. Trenholm, Secretary of the Treasury of the Confederacy. The 4 story stucco house has a handsome treatment of the grand Charleston manner on the exterior, with its carved window cornices, and elaborate roof cornice with medallions.
