Sanborn Maps show 2 story rear extension centered on north facade was added some time between 1912 and 1924; Feiss-Wright states 1920. Subsequently this also extended north by raised single story kitchen wing with gabled roof.
Site owned by William Fripp before its sale at Direct Tax auction during Civil War. Present house said to have been built by James Rhett.
