2 story framed dwelling raised high on elevated tabby basement. 5 bay S. facade with central doorway is fronted by porch raised on brick piers. S. porch features 4 unfluted Doric columns of somewhat slender proportion (executed in stuccoed brick) standi
2 story angled bay added NE and NW to produce "T" shaped plan, interiors reworked and upper porch level inserted. During 1930's additional accommodation added to rear plus external staircase on north facade enclosed within decorative timber lattice work.
Construction attributed to George Elliot, c. 1840. Just before the Civil War was sold to Dr. William J. Jenkins of Lands End Plantation, St. Helena Island, SC. Bought by George Holmes at a Direct Tax Commission sale. His wife, Julia Hazel Holmes lived in
