When it opened on July 1, 1967, the 25-story Daniel Building was the tallest building in SC. The building was named for Charles E. Daniel, president of Daniel Construction Company, and one of the most ardent Greenville promoters. His company's building lent support to Daniel's vision for a revitalized downtown Greenville. Containing 330,000 square feet, the Daniel Building was designed by Stevens and Wilkinson Architects of Atlanta, Georgia.
