Historical Information:
The Greenville Gas and Electric Light Company complex consists of two buildings: the larger steam-powered electric generating plant and the smaller company office building. The plant was one of the first electric generating plants in the city. Greenville Gas and Electric Light Company sold complex to Southern Power in 1910, which later became part of Duke Power.
