Built by Job Palmer, this is an elegant late Adam house of the Neo-Classical style. It is a basic single house with an l-shaped extension. The street entrance is a modern restoration as it was at one time changed to a garden entrance. During the years when the house was used as apartments, the interior stairway was enclosed within a square wall, and the removal years later of this wall found the staircase intact. The sitting rooms all have the graceful and light Adam influence carried out in their embellishment. On one of the dining room window panes is inscribed "Jan. 9, 1861, the first guns for Southern Liberty fired at Morris Point."
