Signficant Architectural Features:

Built by Jacob Williman, the house is a simple Georgian, and one of the earliest dwellings of the area. Though extremely simple in plan and embellishment the house was considered substantial for the period of its construction. It is built on a high brick basement and is centered with a massive chimney, which does not allow for a central hallway, and causes the rooms to open into one another. The stairs climb up along one side of the chimney in an enclosed cabinet effect similar to that found in New England dwellings of the 17th century. Upstairs are four small bedrooms connected by a north hall. The most carefully embellished room is the downstairs drawing room, which features a waist-high dado with recessed paneling and a full entablature in wood a foot high.
