Commercial. The building was constructed before 1849, and has been a grocery store most of its life. The structure was built with a sympathy for classical details. The builder obviously was seeking a medium ground between flair and simplicity. The building is characterized by the ornate wooden false front that sets it out from the surrounding structures. Although the ground level has been completely altered by a modern commercial business, the remaining upper levels are still intact. On the 2nd and 3rd floor facade remain eight Ionic pilasters with the 3rd story level reaching up and squaring off to hide the gable of the roof.
