Signficant Architectural Features:
The house does not share much in common with houses of its same era. Areas where the difference is felt are the chimneys, which are at the end gables of the house, suggesting the style of the tidewater Virginia mansions, unusual low ceilings, a characteristic of New England houses, and the presence of a cellar, not common in the area of unpredictable tide invasion. The house is accentuated by a very handsome 2-story Swedish Iron balcony at the second story level.
