Built circa 1851, the house is of typical Charleston style and has a 2-tiered veranda with Doric columns and a balustrade. It is built over a high basement and has a full attic story. The interior embellishment is of a simple nature in keeping with houses of the period. The veranda windows are high and narrow, a feature found in houses of a much earlier period.
