Signficant Architectural Features:
One-story frame building, rectangular in plan, with gable roof. West elevation: original features include board & batten siding, large diagonal braces, and a door opening. North and south elevations: original features are obscured by metal siding. East elevation: original platform with shed roof has been enclosed with corrugated metal siding; gable end of the depot features board & batten siding, diagonal braces, and a sawn pendant.
Alterations:
altered - the platform areas of this freight depot have been enclosed with corrugated metal siding.
Historical Information:
The 1908 & 1913 Sanborn maps of Denmark show that the depot had an express office, shed, and platforms. In 1922, it had an express office and another office both surrounded by the platform area. In 1931, the portion of the building that had been used as an express office was used for spray painting, and the part of the building that was described as an office in 1922 was described as a building material warehouse; the building still had platforms on all four sides.
