Signficant Architectural Features:
2 1/2 story clapboard house with hip and gable roof. 1 story porch with 8 wooden Tuscan columns extends across front and portion of right side. Front entrance features elongated oval transom and sidelights. Windows are 1/1; dormer with tracery window on front facade. 3 tall interior chimneys.
Alterations:
altered: portion of porch was at one time screened; 1 window on 2nd story of front has been changed; 1 story additions to rear of house.
Historical Information:
Built by Bennie Wright Simmons after he purchased the lot in 1905, the house was later owned by T. J. Hadwin, who was sheriff of Bamberg County for many years.
