Signficant Architectural Features:
2 story brick house, T-shaped in plan, constructed in running bond. Gable roof with 3 exterior end chimneys, and eaves with decorated frieze under cornice. Front: symmetrical, AABAA, with central recessed entrance framed by pilasters and pediment with dentils. Windows are 6/6. 1 story porch on E. side (deteriorated). OUTBUILDINGS: 2 story frame garage

Built by Mrs. Margaret Eaves Dowling and Margaret D. Faires on the site of the home of Augustus Vastine Eaves, Mrs. Dowling's father (who was Barnwell Co. Clerk of Court from 1863-1868 and was responsible for moving the county's records, thus saving them from destruction by Sherman's army).
