Signficant Architectural Features:
Two-Story weatherboarded house with partial basement. Gable roof has plain boxed cornice with returns: gable end faces Carolina Avenue. On the south slope of the roof are two interior chimneys which have been covered with stucco; at the east end of the south side is one small brick exterior chimney; on the north side is one yellow brick exterior chimney with corbeled cap. Windows are double-hung sash, 2/2. Front (west elevation): asymmetrical; at the north end of the first floor, the single door and one-light transom are framed by fluted trim with corner blocks; at the south end of the first floor is a double window; on the second floor are three single windows; the gable end features a small Palladian window and, at its peak, sawn ornament. Across front and around the SW corner of the house is a one-story porch with square wooden posts. North side: pedimented gable at west end of this side contains a rectangular louvered vent; one-story addition (after 1923) at east end. Rear: screened porch on first floor. On second floor is a porch, which has a balustrade with turned balusters (seen on south side). South side: 5 2/2 windows on each floor, plus one small window at the east end of the first floor. OUTBUILDINGS: Metal-clad storage shed behind house.
Historical Information:
the 1918 and 1923 Sanborn mans of North Augusta indicate that this building was then a dwelling.
