weatherboarded house (weatherboards are stained dark brown), 11/2 stories on its north side, 2 on its south side. Low gable roof has diagonal brackets in the gable end tha faces Carolina Avenue. One brick chimney can be seen from the street. West elevation: features diamond-paned single-sash windows (probably casement type); over some of the windows are canvas awnings. North elevation: shed dormer containing three single-sash diamond-paned windows; west end of this side features 66/6 windows; east end - recessed porch. East elevation: features diamond-paned casement windows and 6/6 windows. OUTBUILDINGS:

History of North Augusta, p. 82: "the attractive brown wooden cottage in its rustic setting was operated as a tearoom by Mrs. Emory Platt Ruland from the flourishing times of the Hampton Terrace Hotel and for many years after.
