Signficant Architectural Features:
Large, two-story weatherboarded house. Hip roof features entablature with dentil course and modillions. Four brick chimneys with corbeled caps can be seen from the street; two of these are exterior and have recessed panels below their stacks. Windows that can be seen from Georgia Ave. are double-hung sash. Front (E. elevation): symmetrical, 3 bays; in the center of the first floor is the front entrance, a single glazed door, rectangular sidelights, and large semielliptical fanlight; on either side of the front entrance is a window (these windows have entablatures with dentils); in the center of the second floor is a single door flanked on either side by a small window (these small windows have lozenge-shaped panes in their uppers sashes, single-light lower sashes); the central second story doorway opens onto a balcony, which has a balustrade with turned balusters; on either side of the balcony is a single, almost square, double-hung window (these two windows have entablatures with dentils). Across the facade is a monumental portico, which features an entablature with modillions and dentil course, 4 fluted Ionic columns, 2 fluted Ionic pilasters. In the center of the front slope of the roof is a gabled projection (very large dormer?), which has an entablature with dentil course, and which contains what appears to be a large Palladian window (however, this may be a doorway); view of this feature of the house is hidden by the roof of the front portico. South elevation: one exterior chimney; windows. North elevation: one-story porch with Ionic columns at the east end; near center -two-story polygonal projection; 1/1 windows. OUTBUILDINGS:
