Signficant Architectural Features:
2-Story weatherboard house. Front: highlighted by a wide L-shaped veranda extending across the front and down the left elevation; 12 fluted Corinthian columns support a wide entablature accented by a frieze of acanthus leaves; a rectangular window bordered in colored glass and framed by scrollwork accents the porch pediment; 1st floor windows are floor length with louvered shutters; 2nd floor windows - 2/2 lights; Front entrance features recessed double doors; Italian colored glass has been used in the fanlights and sidelights of the entrance. Left side: 2 shallow bays entending onto the porch; small 1-story addition on the rear section. Right side: basically unadorned; a first floor breezeway separating the pantry from the kitchen in the rear has been enclosed. Rear: 2-story kitchen and pantry wing entends from the main body of the house; a 2-tiered porch with square bracketed columns and wooden balustrade opens off the right side of the kitchen wing. Interior: 1st floor - paneled hall with staircase rising up to the rear wall and a landing; from the landing, the staircase divides into twin flights rising to the 2nd story hall; the focal point of the landing is a colored glass window topped by an ornamental shelf; 14' ceilings of the ground floor are paneled in a coffered English style with decorative knobs; the coal-burning fireplaces have columned overmantels with beveled glass mirrors. 2nd story: rooms are arranged around a spacious hall characterized by a columned balustrade surrounding the stairwell. OUTBUILDINGS:;2 story white clapboard house; surmounting a low brick foundation, the front facade is highlighted by a side L-shaped verandah that extends across the front and down the left elevation; 12 fluted Corinthian columns support a wide entablature accented by a frieze of acanthus leaves; roof is punctuated by corbel-capped chimneys OUTBUILDINGS:

Historical Information:
An example of Greek revival architecture, Rosemary Hall was built for James Urquhart Jackson, founder of North Augusta and influential leader in the growth and development of the town during the first decades of its existence. As president of the North Augusta Hotel Co.,Mr. Jackson was influential in the construction of the Hampton Terrace Hotel (1903), a distinguished winter resort. As president of the North Augusta Land Company, Mr. Jackson influenced the firm to provide $85,000 for the construction of a steel bridge connecting North Augusta with Augusta. Mr. Jackson was also responsible for the opening in 1902 of an extended trolley line between Augusta, Ga., and Aiken, S.C., via North Augusta (abandoned in 1929). As founder and president of the North Augusta Land Company, Mr. Jackson directed the purchasing of the land and the laying out of the streets upon which North Augusta developed, leading to incorporation in 1906.;Owner James Urquhart Jackson, founder of North Augusta, was an influential leader in the growth and development of the town during first decades of its existence.
