Signficant Architectural Features:
House faced with red brick laid in stretcher bond. Irregular plan shape. South end of the house is one story; north end has 11/2 stories plus a basement. House has a hip roof with plain boxed cornice, except for the front section of the building. which has a gable roof and entablature with decorated frieze. There are at least 5 chimneys. OUTBUILDINGS: Squash court/guest house (one-story cottage with partial basement, jerkin head roof, 5 chimneys, fishscale, and shake shingle siding, etc. This building is now a residence.); one-story building with hip roof, fishscale shingle siding, 2/2 windows, and 2 chimneys; laundry building (this building was moved about 28-29 years ago and remodeled to be a house. It is a 2-story building covered with fishscale and shake shingles); stable and carriage house (1 1/2 stories, jerkin head roof, shake shingles, one chimney, dormer windows. This building is now a residence.); caretakers cottage (aluminum siding covers the original shingled exterior, jerkin head roof, 6/6 windows, central brick chimney).
Historical Information:
"Sunny Corner" was a winter cottage owned by Yale Dolan of Rosemont. Pennsylvania, in 1933. There originally was a shingled house on this site: it burned. The present brick house was built by the Dolans; it was designed by Willis Irvin
