Historical Information:
On the site of the Park Avenue Hotel," the first tourist hotel in Aiken," this building faces the location of an early passenger depot. The hotel, which with its service structures had occupied most of the block, burned about 1896. Rebuilding began soon after, and this small building was constructed ca. 1900. In 1904 a milliner was located here; by 1909 the building was used as a barber shop, a use retained for a number of years.
