2-story; multi-gable roof; irregular plan; 3 bays; windows are 2/2 w/louvered shutters; 1st story has central single entrance door w/multi-paned stained glass window and decorative carving; mazed glass sidelights; 2nd story features central rectangular projecting bay w/gabled roof and 9 light casement windows; twin gables flank central bay; all gables have decorative bargeboard; 1st story hipped roof porch extends across front and wraps around left elevation; porch is supported by turned posts & has sawn-work balustrade & sawn brackets; diagonal beaded flush paneling under porch; left elevation has 2-story projecting single story ell w/lancet-shaped (cusped) louvered opening in gable w/boxed cornice & returns; 2nd story has modern central projecting gabled bay; 2 interior chimneys; rear ell has 6/6 light windows; rear ell & shed outbuilding are from earlier (c. 1850) house; interior doors are from earlier building. ;Outbuildings: 1 wooden shed (part of earlier house); 1 outhouse; 1 garage; 1 brick wellhouse.
Alterations:
Kitchen added to replace unattached kitchen.
Historical Information:
Built in 6 weeks, designed by Mrs. Galloway, drawings sent to Augusta where wood was cut, parts of earlier house incorporated; R. S. Galloway was president of Due West Railroad.
