Historical Information:
Frist National Bank evolved from National Bank of Greenville, chartered in 1872 and the city's only bank until 1887. Fountain Fox Beattie commissioned S. L. Trowbridge to design bank building in 1917. Following reorganization after the Depression, Beattie again commissioned Trowbridge to design Art Deco structure adjacent to the earlier building. In 1952, the building was expanded to encompass the 1917 building.
