During the Civil War, Ellison was one of four Citadel alumni to rise to the rank of general. He was also later an Episcopal bishop and chancellor of the University of the South in Tennessee. Currently, the building is the home for classrooms and offices, as well as areas for Computer Science, Political Science, English, Mathematics, Psychology, Education, and History.
