Historical Information:
New Chapel Methodist was organized in 1830 by Isaac Herbert. The original building was located closer to the Saluda River and the congregation moved to the current site in 1833. The church was also used as a school building for area children. It is currently the smallest Methodist congregation in the county with only 33 members in 1992.
