Mrs. Lillian E. Werle, wife of Ludwig A. Werle, superintendent of the Standard Oil refinery, purchased land on 1/25/1937. After Ludwig died in 1949, Lillian continued to live in the house. She gave the house to her son L. Arnold, who owned the house until his death in 1974.
