Historical Information:
Mrs. Comar purchased two lots in 1915, and kept them in her own name for almost two years until she transferred them to her husband, Joseph in 1917. The Comars built the house and then used it as a rental property. In 1919, they sold the house to Mrs. Sadie Rittenberg and her husband, Samuel. The Rittenberg's were the first owners to live in the house. Mr. Rittenberg was born in Lithuania and spoke seven languages. In 1912, he was elected to the South Carolina Legislature.
