Built by Sarah Smith, these are 4 high-fashion and very elegant row houses. Later this block became a commisary store supplied by blockade runners during the War Between the States. Number 105 was bought after the war by Claudia Rhett and became her dancing school, a Charleston tradition for 2 generations of debutantes. Much of the original plasterwork, elaborate swags and rosettes still remain.
