Historical Information:
Marker commemorates the communal grave of 77 victims of the Cleveland School fire. There were 50 to 60 unidentified bodies that were buried in the communal grave. The victims of the Cleveland School fire resulted in one of the largest funerals in Kershaw County (5,000 attendees) at the Beulah Methodist Church, May 18 1923.
