Pedimented gable in the 2-story section, flanking 1-story sheds. Raised basement. Central portion of portico is two levels flanked by one-story sections of porch. Square columns. Transom and sidelights on central double doors. Hewn timbers with wooden pegs in sills.

Historical Information:
Dr. John Brown used basement for office. Cared for refugees from Charleston and Columbia during the Civil War. Granite retaining wall in front known as the "Monkey Roost" was a social gathering place for community.
