Historical Information:
The Watts family built the house in the late 1800s. Catherine Watts Baily lived there. Colonel Allen Watts was the builder's son. Originally property included a barn and separate gathering hall. Later a general store/post office was built. Mr. Watts was postmaster of "Cantey"and store manager. Only Watts home is extant on a 62 acre tract that once had a pecan grove. House has eight rooms with attached wellhouse; electrified and plumbed circa 1950.
