Historical Information:
Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church was formed in the O'Neall section of the county in 1882 by the Reverend C.A. Marks with seventeen charter members. The present church building was constructed in 1890 on land donated by Anna Cason. The construction of Lake Murray in the 1920s caused the dislocation of many of the congregation members. With only 10 confirmed members, it is the smallest Lutheran congregation in the county.
