Signficant Architectural Features:
The Maybin-Poole House was constructed by Albert Maybin in 1871. It is a one and a half story clapboard residence on a raised basement. Its gable roof is punctuated by two gabled dormers which are joined by a shed dormer. The upper windows are six over six sash, while the lower windows reflect an 1890's remodeling with one over one sash. The house has a wraparound porch supported on turned newels with cast iron ballusters similar to those found on the Old Court House. The porch has a frieze of turned spindles and a gable at the corner turn. There are carved brackets in the eaves of the dormers. The house was remodeled by C. C. Davis in the 1890's.
