Historical Information:
Page's Mill Pond 1870-1950. Now a conservation site. The original landowner of Page's Mill was James Ford, who sold the tract in 1789 to Zarv Ford. In 1792 his son, Major William Ford, constructed a pond and grist mill on the site, which became known as Ford's Mill. He later sold the property to his brother Jesse. A cotton gin was added to the original mill & a trading center developed. In 1870 the Ford family sold the property to Joseph Nicholos Page. A large general store was opened by the new owner and the name of the community changed to Page's Mill. In 1873 the old mill washed away and when it was rebuilt, major repairs to the mill dam were necessary.
