Historical Information:
The farm is related to the Williford and Skelton families. The Skelton's received this land as a grant after the Revolutionary War in a tract that included several thousand acres. The main house was to the left of site 0458 with slave cabins behind but fell in in the 1950s. The home was built for Naomi Williford in 1900 because she wanted a smaller home. After the Civil War the family acreage was reduced to approx. 120 acres which is what the family owns today. They switched to permanent dairy farming in the 1950s. In 1993 the farm became strictly beef cattle.
