Currently open parcel, with above ground traces of tabby wall to east. Site has extensive below ground basement foundation of c. 1765 tabby house owned by Daniel DeSaussure before the American Revolution.
Alterations:
Structure destroyed in "Great" Beaufort fire of 1907
Historical Information:
Civil War period photographs show 3 story tabby house on site, 3 bays wide with tiered porch facing south. Excavation (1996) confirms house was raised on tabby basement, much of which survives below ground.
