Signficant Architectural Features:
2 story gable ended structure raised on brick piers with 5 bay entrance facade facing south. Main door has sidelights and 4 bay transom over. Two story tiered porch is full width, with square chamfered post supports and slat balusters.
Alterations:
Extensive rebuilding at rear has altered from single story to 2 story accommodation running along north side of building and projecting east and west. Roof profiles appear altered and porch part reworked.
Historical Information:
Site belonged to Rhodes family before Civil War. In a conveyance dated 1860, John J. Rhodes refers to Block 17 as "the Mill". Present house now looks out towards a tidal basin which before the Civil War was much larger than today, one channel then extend
